The 68th edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto, marking the end of Monique Veaute's five-year artistic career with unprecedented success. The numbers testify to a historic goal for the Umbrian festival.
Dizzling numbers
With more than 31,000 tickets issued And a Record income of 925,000 euros, the 2025 edition registered an increase of 17% compared to 2024, reaching the best box office performance in the last eighteen years. The event presented 67 shows for a total of 106 performances, with an average occupancy of more than 90%, involving 784 artists from 53 companies.
The art that communicates with the present
The success is due to the visionary approach of Monique Veaute, who has made experimentation and the plurality of artistic languages the common thread of its direction. Shows like Hadrian by Rufus Wainwright and The Great Yes, The Great No by William Kentridge have demonstrated how contemporary art knows how to intercept the urgencies of our time.
Particularly significant is the success of Piazza Duomo, that with events such as Twentieth century: the duel with Baricco, Bollani and Rava (broadcast live on Rai 5) it welcomed 2,400 spectators, consolidating itself as the beating heart of the festival.
Excellence in all sectors
The Roman Theater has recorded constant sold out with dance shows such as Impermanence of the Sydney Dance Company, while the festival Midday Concerts has expanded the performances to meet the growing public demand. Even the prose shows, with names like Umberto Orsini and Luca Marinelli, have sold out.
Virtuous management and sustainability
From a management point of view, the festival has demonstrated constant growth, setting aside more than one million euros and reaching a cash pool of almost 2 million, guaranteeing economic sustainability and greater resources for artistic programming.
